6 ‘Conversations that Connect #5’ Engaging with tough questions
Romans chapters 1 and 2 (selected verses) Engaging with tough questions “I think/believe that all religions lead to God.” “They are different paths up to the same mountain top?” “Aren’t all religions sincere attempts from a particular culture to understand and connect with the same God?”

7 “A conversational approach to evangelism is a method that suits our times. Through the use of key questions we can help people to examine their own beliefs, and consider other ways of seeing things and do this in a way that is non-threatening, which is the point. Kiwis are still spiritual people - they just don’t want to be preached at!” Dave Mann

8 Three Conversational Questions
Question 1: What do you mean by...? Clarify instead of assuming. This seeks to clarify WHAT they believe. Question 2: Where did you get that idea from? What led you to that conclusion? This seeks to clarify WHY they believe that. Question 3: Have you considered that...? This seeks to provide a different perspective.

9 Some things to consider
What the religions say about God’s existence is different. What religions say about the necessary path for salvation/getting right with God is very different. The claims of the major religious leaders are all really different. Do all roads ever lead to the same place? You can be sincere but very wrong. Not just Sincerity but Object of faith is important. Different religions address different questions Religion is about people’s search for God; Christianity is about God’s search for people.

10 “As one person put it, all the religions are essentially the same, except for the area of God and salvation and the problem of [man] and the afterlife and that kind of stuff. It turns out that on the big issues they are very, very different. They can’t all be true.” Gregory Koukl
