IMPACT SAMR Cover Sheet
Teacher’s Name: William Guillotte . Given a description of an experiment, identify appropriate safety measures (SI-H-A7) GLEs and Standards Covered (Include Descriptions): Task Overview Learning Objective(s) Suggested Technology Today we will be publishing our scientific data to the student community, for the peer review using a web based technology tool called Blackboard. .Given a description of an experiment, identify appropriate safety measures (SI-H-A7) Internet-connected device Blackboard Today you will be explaining the scientific knowledge or experimental results using a web based technology tool called GOOGLE SLIDES . Given a description of an experiment, identify appropriate safety measures (SI-H-A7) GOOGLE SLIDES Analyze the data collected from the Google Form on lab safety and collaborate to identify appropriate safety measures. Given a description of an experiment, identify appropriate safety measures (SI-H-A7) Internet-connected device Results from the Google Form Poll Everywhere Investigate lab safety rules by responding to a Google Form. REDEFINITION Technology allows for the creation of new tasks that were previously not conceivable. transformation MODIFICATION Technology allows for significant task redesign.. Technology acts a direct substitute, with no functional improvement
Science Lab Safety Investigate lab safety rules by responding to a Google Form. SUBSTITUTION Technology acts a direct substitute, with no functional improvement Log into Blackboard and go to Westlake High School. Select faculty tab and then “Science” Department . Click on Mr. Guillotte’s blackboard site. Select “Lab Safety” tab. Answer every question with either YES or NO based on your previous knowledge. Submit your answers when you are done. This task uses: Google Forms Internet-connected device Learning Objective(s): 10. Given a description of an experiment, identify appropriate safety measures (SI-H-A7) TEACHER NOTES: Teacher’s name/ William Guillotte / School: Westlake High School Louisiana State Standard: . A Science Lab Safety POLL EVERYWHERE
Analyze the data collected from the Google Form on lab safety and collaborate to identify appropriate safety measures. AUGMENTATION Technology acts as a direct tool for substitution with some functional improvement. Study the questionnaire data/results on the screen and analyze the lab safety rules based on the percentages of YES and No responses to the GOOGLE FORM. Take 5 minutes to discuss with your table to decide the lab safety rules. As a team, identify and list out the lab safety rules based on the data collected through the investigation. Access POLL EVERYWHERE and submit what your group has identified as the lab safety rules. This task uses: POLL EVERYWHERE Learning Objective(s): 10. Given a description of an experiment, identify appropriate safety measures (SI-H-A7) TEACHER NOTES: Teacher’s name/ William Guillotte / School: Westlake High School Louisiana State Standard: . significant task redesign.
M Science Lab Safety Explain scientific knowledge or experimental results using Google Slides. MODIFICATION Technology allows for significant task redesign. Each table is to research the science lab safety rules and find at least 1 fact per person using Baruch Lab Safety Tutorial a. Go to Mr. Guillotte’s Blackboard site b. Click on Lab Safety tab c. Select Baruch Lab Safety Tutorial d. Perform Lab Safety Tutorial 2. Once the research is completed, you will add the facts and the source of the fact to the collaborative GOOGLE SLIDES presentation. 3. Find the slide already created by teacher for your group and add your researched information along with its source. 4. When your group is finished adding information, groups will share (explain) your scientific knowledge or findings to the entire class. This task uses: Internet-connected device Blackboard Baruch Lab Safety Tutorial Google Slides created by teacher and shared via Blackboard Learning Objective(s): 10. Given a description of an experiment, identify appropriate safety measures (SI-H- A7) TEACHER NOTES: Teacher will need to create google slide presentation on personal blackboard site. R Science Lab Safety Publish scientific data to the student community for the peer review via Blackboard REDEFINITION Technology allows for the creation of new tasks that were previously not conceivable. Go to the Science Lab Safety discussion board on Mr. Guillotte’s Blackboard site and open Google Slides presentation via the link provided in another tab. Once the Google Slides link in opened, review other research presented by classmates. In the discussion, reply with at least 3 statements in full, either to support, revise, or reject any scientific information with a reasonable explanation. This task uses: Internet-connected device Link to completed M task Discussion board in Blackboard Learning Objective(s): 10.
