4 The Calling of a Leader: Paul (Acts 9).
“Then they cast him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul.” (Acts 7:58) “For I am the least of the apostles, unworthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.” (1 Corinthians 15:9)

6 What about the non-Jew? (Acts 15).
Do Gentiles have to become Jews (in practice) to be true Christians? Some Jewish early church leaders said Gentiles had to do two things to become true Christians: 1) Believe in Jesus Chris 2) be circumcised (i.e., practice Jewish laws)

7 Paul’s book of Galatians teaches…
Christ is the perfect substitute Salvation comes from God Being made right with God does not come by works of the law, but by faith To require the works of the law takes away grace, faith and freedom Being made right with God is seen in the Old Testament in the life of Abraham and the prophecy of Habakkuk. A follower of Christ’s has died with Christ to sin, and disowned the flesh. The Holy Spirit is the source of power and guidance in the Christian life. A follower of Christ’s life seeks to please Christ as our master and not people.

8 The church is Christ’s Ambassadors to the world. 2 Corinthians 5:20
Assembled together the church belongs to Jesus, and we are to think like Jesus, act like Jesus and love others like Jesus loves them. The church is commissioned to go into the entire world as witnesses to Jesus. “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8) God wants all people in the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ. “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.” (Romans 1:16)
