The 2007 budget shows an increase in federal grant funds. Over 7 years, the federal grant money has increased by 26%.

5. In 2006, there was an increase in philanthropist giving, or private grants.
Giving by corporate foundations rose by 6% in 2006 to a record $4.2 billion, and 57% of those surveyed said they expect to give more this year.
