2 Introduction The United Kingdom has been a major exporter and source of musical innovation for many years. In the 20th century, the music of the United States became most dominant in popular music. This led to the explosion of the British Invasion, and subsequently movements in British music, which include the New Wave of British Heavy Metal and Britpop.

14 Dropkick Murphys The Dropkick Murphys are a band formed in 1996.
The band was initially signed to independent punk record label Hellcat Records, releasing five albums for the label, and making a name for themselves locally through constant touring and yearly St. Patrick's Day week shows, held in and around Boston.  In 2007, the band began releasing music through their own imprint label, Born & Bred via Alternative Distribution Alliance.
