Social studies teachers will bring their classes to the computer lab on the assigned schedule. The visits will be 45 minutes. During this time each student will meet with their counselor to discuss classes for next year.

5. Registration Procedures:
You will circle your courses on your course selection sheet and also enter them in Skyward.
Before your scheduled registration time, you will need to have circled 8 courses on your course sheet.

Your counselor will review your courses in Skyward and make any needed adjustments.

6. Helpful Hints for Choosing Electives:
You are required to take the following elective: - Professional Communications (1 semester) - Health (1 semester) - Fine Arts (1 year) - Foreign Language (2 years) - P.E. (1 year or 2 semesters) - Endorsement (4 credits ) If you have not yet taken these required electives, we would advise that you select them on your course sheet.

7. Ben Barber Electives
When selecting electives at Ben Barber, you must select two 18 week courses or one 36 week course. Please review the course description guide for prerequisite requirements. You need to choose a Ben Barber course for each semester.

8. Courses Needing Signatures
Athletics Academic Decathlon Competitive Debate AP Studio Art Band Choir Yearbook and Newspaper Athletic Trainer

9. Courses Requiring Tryout or Application
We will not enroll any student in the following courses because they require approval through an application process or a try-out. You will list any of these courses as an alternate choice and you will be put in them if approved.
Cheerleading Partners in PE
Drill Team Office Aid
Partners in Art Teen 2
AVID (if not already in the program)

10. Alternates
It is very important to choose alternate courses. Please list at least 4 alternate courses that you would be okay taking. If you choose Ben Barber electives, make sure you also list Ben Barber electives in your alternate choices. Remember if you do not list any alternates, your counselor will choose them for you!!!
