D – Degree – A Bachelor's degree from an accredited College/University E – Experience – Experience in the contracting management career field A – Action – Develop an Action Plan and Execute the Plan

D – A Bachelor Degree from an accredited college or university with 80 CPEs A degree waiver may be granted with a minimum of 10 years experience in the field

E – Experience – One (1) year of experience in the contracting field (contract management or related business areas: finance, program management, &/or, etc.)

A – Action – Develop an Action Plan and Execute the Plan 1. Pull together your: a) resume, b) transcript(s) & c) training certificates (make copies to submit to NCMA HQ) 2. Complete the eligibility application for certification testing 3. Submit the completed package (1 & 2 above) and pay the eligibility evaluation fee to NCMA HQ 4. Upon approval determine the method of testing (Testing Center or local chapter (proctored). 5. Pay the appropriate fees and set testing date and take the test

A Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) certification demonstrates recipient has met NCMA’s: Education, training, knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation, and a minimum of one (1) year of experience Has obtain a minimum of 80 hours of continuing professional education (CPE) How to prepare for exam: CFCM Study Guide, 3nd Ed. ($75) Desktop Guide to FAR Essentials ($75) Desktop Guide to Contract Terms, 7th Ed. ($40) Practice Examination $25 Huntsville NCMA Study Group ($100) Other: Self Study, On-Line Courses, Webinars, NCMA HQ Conferences, or Just do It! Who takes the certification exam? Contracting career minded people who desire to extend their career; become more knowledgeable; mentor individuals interested in achieving success in government contracting; who have a business education and/or training

A Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM) certification validates your education, training, experience and knowledge of the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC). How to prepare for the exam: Cornell University Law School Legal Information Website Chapter Study Group NCMA HQ Training Events/Webinars Practice Exam Who takes the certification exam? Contracting professionals who deal with commercial contracts and have a minimum of one (1) year of experience and 80 CPE’s hours

A Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) certification demonstrates recipient has met NCMA’s: Highest standards for education, training, and experience, and Demonstrated knowledge of the contract management competencies in the Contract Management Body of Knowledge How to prepare for exam: Contract Management Body of Knowledge (CMBOK), 5th Edition ($50) Desktop Guide to Basic Contracting Terms, 7th Edition ($75) Practice Exam ($25) Who takes the certification exam? Contracting professionals who have mastered the contract management competencies in the Contract Management Body of Knowledge (CMBOK), have extensive business education and training, and a minimum of 5 years of experience and have a minimum of 120 CPE hours of training

D – Degree waiver will be considered with a minimum of ten(10) years experience in the field Provide proper documentation to the NCMA HQ certificate manager. Business related degree & training – any business or contract classes over the basic four (4) year degree is eligible for 15 Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits per semester hour. A three (3) credits semester class will earn you forty-five (45) CPE’s (3X15 = 45). Note: Five (5) quarter credits are equal to four (4) semester hours

NCMA uses the following conversion for CPE’s 1 CPE = 50 minutes or 1 hour of classroom instructions 1 CEU = 10 CPE’s 1 College/Semester Credit = 15 CPE’s 1 Full Day Seminar = 7 CPE’s (Unless otherwise stated on your Transcript/Certificate)
