A hypothesis is a tentative statement that proposes a possible explanation to some phenomenon or event.
A useful hypothesis is a testable statement which may include a prediction.
Usually, a hypothesis is based on some previous observation.
Written as an if… then … because… statement.

4. What is an excellent hypothesis?
Your neighbor has huge roses in his yard, much bigger than your own. You would like to know why this is, so you come up with a hypothesis as to why they have bigger plants.

“My plants are not growing. I never fertilize them because I don’t have time.”
“If I get lucky, then my plants will grow bigger because plants need a lot of luck to grow.”
