U.S. History Course Description This course is a history of the United States from the Civil War through the present. Emphasis is given to America’s development as a nation built on free enterprise, a world power among nations, and a democratic society based on government by Constitutional laws.

RULES FOR CLASS Show mutual respect to teacher and other students... Be a responsible student. Follow all GHS policies. I expect everyone to give 110% We are going to be actively learning in groups and using technology. Respect and doing what is asked will make you a success in my classroom

Random Procedures and Guidelines:
Students will not be allowed to leave the room unless the office is requesting their presence or in emergency situations. Turn assignments in on time. You are responsible for work missed due to absences. It is YOUR responsibility. I will allow you to have the number of days plus one for your absence. After that it will be recorded as a ZERO. Plagiarizing and copying student work is unacceptable. It will result in a zero. You will be asked to redo work for minimal credit Keep the room clean, desk organized, and follow all school policies regarding drinks, food and cell phones. Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.

Activity You have one minute to LIST thoughts, anxiety, relief, questions. Something must be written on your index card! You are not sitting there thinking “NOTHING”.
