International cooperation between Programme Countries & Partner Countries Programme Countries Partner Countries EU Member States: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom Other programme countries: Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Turkey. All other countries throughout the world Programme countries are the EU 28 + Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Turkey and FYROM, i.e. all countries that contribute financially to the programme and have a National Agency to manage it. Partner Countries are all other countries throughout the world.

Credit mobility: how does it work?
Managed by Erasmus+ National Agencies in Programme Countries Individual HEIs set up inter-institutional agreement(s) Agreement sets framework for sending & hosting students & staff 3 – 12 months for students 5 – 60 days for staff 2 to 12 months for traineeships (from 2017 for partner countries) – to be confirmed

New international mobility agreements between Programme and Partner Countries will be selected in 2016 Only Programme-Country HEIs can apply for funding to their National Agency Partner-Country HEIs should strengthen their links with HEIs in Programme Countries to get involved

Continuation of Erasmus Mundus Masters Courses Excellent Joint Master courses offered by consortia of HEIs from Programme (& Partner) Countries to attract best students worldwide through high-level scholarships 350 Joint Master Degree courses to be selected, Expected to fund 30,000 students and staff over 7 years

Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees: structure
Offer an integrated study programme, fully recognised in the countries participating Require study in at least two of the Programme Countries represented in the consortium Can last 12, 18 or 24 months (60, 90, 120 ECTS) Lead to the award of a double, multiple or joint degree to all successful students Award full-study scholarships for students worldwide

Minimum consortium of 3 HEIs from different Programme Countries HEIs from Partner Countries can take part Funding for three annual intakes of students and guest academics, covering Total costs of student scholarships Annual flat-rate fee for management and guest academic costs

Credit mobility: 47 countries applied, 35 received funding, 243 partnerships, 4375 mobilities Joint Master degrees: 4796 students applied, 158 students will get scholarships Capacity building: 15 North African projects selected, 2 South African projects, 3 SSA projects and 6 mixed projects (26 projects) Strengthening of Collaboration, Leadership and Professionalization in Research Management in SADC and EU Higher Education Institutions / StoRM Défis sociétaux et gouvernance des universités AFRicaines: le cas des ALIments au Maroc, en République démocratique du Congo et au Sénégal

Youth Capacity Building
Foster youth cooperation between Programme countries and Partner Countries from different regions of the world; Improve the quality and recognition of youth work, non-formal learning and volunteering in Partner countries and enhance their synergies and complementarities with the other education systems; Test and launch schemes of non-formal learning mobility at regional level … Promote transnational non-formal learning mobility, notably targeting young people with fewer opportunities: Duration of the project: between 9 months and 2 years Age: no limitation/number of participants: max 50

Marie Skłodowska Curie Actions (MSCA) will provide new doctoral programmes from 2014 onwards with fellowships MSCA also offers individual research grants Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctorate Programmes will continue to select doctoral candidates up to 2017
