2 Accreditation is … a peer evaluation process to ensure quality
voluntary … however … required for the College to receive state funding required for students to receive federal financial aid We are accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) – we are in Restoration Status

3 Timeline Aug 2016: Self Evaluation Submitted to ACCJC Oct 2016: Evaluation Team Site Visit (October 10 – 13) Jan 2017: ACCJC Considers Reaffirmation Feb 2017: ACCJC Announces Determination

4 What to expect during the October 10-13 Site Visit
Group of peers Purpose is to validate the self evaluation & evidence that the College provided (through interviews, open forums, & observation) Pre-visit prep/visit itself Exit report After the visit Jan 2017: ACCJC Considers Reaffirmation Feb 2017: ACCJC Announces Determination

Eligibility Requirements are the minimum criteria an institution must meet to be considered for accreditation 21 Eligibility Requirements An institution must continuously meet all Eligibility Requirements as well as the Commission Policies and the Standards. The Institutional Self Evaluation separately addresses: ER 1 – Authority ER 2 – Operational Status ER 3 – Degrees ER 4 – Chief Executive Officer ER 5 – Financial Accountability Other Eligibility Requirements covered within the Standards XX Commission Policies Other Commission Policies covered within the Standards
