Louis XVI didn’t care about politics or his people. His wife, Marie Antoinette was not liked by the French people and she was very dominant over Louis.

King Louis wanted to maintain popularity among the people, and agreed to some reforms. He then resisted when things became chaotic and the people wanted him dead.

The French Revolution was about democracy and liberty, fraternity, and equality. They thought by killing the King that it would stop but instead they got the Reign of Terror and a Napoleon as a Empire.

The French Revolution diminished the country. It started a new era of Democracy. Napoleon takes over, and creates the Napoleon Code, nationalism is spread throughout the country. The French Revolution influenced other revolutions in other countries.
