Guidelines to Figures Respect images copyrights:
When using images from the internet, please check if they are free of any copyrights (Creative Common License) You as the author are responsible for any copyright violations in your submission to Acta Physiologica. Use Arial as default font. Use Arial Bold for highlighting headlines, etc. Use consistent font sizes for comparable elements. For barcharts, scatterplots and artwork: Use enclosed colors and gradients All lines, coordinates should have equal thickness. Submit high resolution artwork: Make sure your file is an RGB (Not CMYK) .JPG file at the best possible quality. Minimum file size for images is 1600 x 1200 (approx. 2MB). If you create images in a vector art software, like Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, OpenOffice Draw, etc, please export your images as PDF file to preserve the vector quality (no calculation from vector art to bitmap image). If you create your figures with Prism, SigmaPlot, etc. also consider to export a PDF-file as this will provide the best quality. If Acta Physiologica offers to have complex artwork revised by a professional firm, please provide the orginal file format of the software used to create the image like Prisma (up to version 6), SigmaPlot (up to version 12.5), Powerpoint, Illustrator, MS Excel).

Examples for flowchart and artwork

Example artwork A B A schematic representation of microinjection sites in the PVN region (a). Black or red dots represent the sites of termination of the microinjections. Black dots were considered to be within the PVN. Red dots were considered to be at the margin of PVN or outside of the PVN, which were excluded from data analysis. A representative photo of microinjection sites in the PVN evaluated by 50 nL of Evans blue diffusion, and arrows showed the microinjection sites (b). PVN, paraventricular nucleus; 3V, the third ventricle.
