Mental Health Healed by God The Peace of God in a stressful age
2
Mental Health Defined as our emotional, psychological and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel and act. Mental illness refers to a wide range of mental health conditions – disorders that affect your mood, thinking and behaviour. Examples of mental illness include depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, eating disorders and addictive behaviour.
3
Mental Health We might observe that someone is not in control…
not their self… troubled. Or we might not know what someone is going through. There is a campaign at mine sites to say to your workmates ‘ are you OK? ‘ ‘We live in the green band of mental health when everything is going well, if there are problems at home, financial problems , illness or trauma we enter the orange zone which if ignored puts us in the red zone of serious mental health problems.’
4
Testimony of a healing from mental illness.
John Ryan :- Bipolar, manic depression. Incurable.

Matthew 17:14 There came to him a man, kneeling down to him, and saying, Lord have mercy on my son for he is a lunatic, and sore vexed; for often times he falls into the fire and often into the water…and the child was cured from that very hour. Lunatic; an old term for the insane, which is not used any more. Literally means Moon-struck and people like Aristotle observed that people suffering from Bi polar disorder would experience sleep deprivation for up to 3 days due to the brightness of the full moon at night which aggravated their condition.

Jesus said: Luke 4:18 He has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor, He has sent me to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised. Matthew Come unto me, all you that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Causes of Mental Illness
Biological: Genetics, abnormal balance of chemicals, injury to the brain, stress, abuse, a traumatic event, infections, prenatal damage, substance abuse, poor nutrition and toxins. Psychological: Trauma, loss, neglect as a child, abuse, poor ability to relate to others. Environmental: Death or divorce, anxiety, low self esteem, anger, loneliness, cultural expectations, substance abuse.
8
Stress and Anxiety Moderate stress helps us to reach maximum productivity. It is the ‘fight or flight response ‘ that enables us to use the adrenalin the brain produces to focus on the attack or thing causing stress. If stress is prolonged over hours or days it has a damaging effect on our mental health, and can cause mental exhaustion, anxiety and depression.

Stress and Anxiety Proverb 17.22
A merry heart doeth good like a medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones. Proverb15.15 A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance, but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken. Proverb 18.14 The spirit of man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear?
10
Your Soul Matthew For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul. Luke you make clean the outside, but your inward part is full of ravening (hunt for prey) and wickedness. Body exercise, education, dietary needs, successful career, but spiritually empty. Matthew 9.5 For which is easier. To say thy sins be forgiven you, or to say rise up and walk? John 7.37 If any man thirst let him come unto me and drink .. out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water .. the Holy Ghost that they should receive.
11
The soul Luke 7.43 The burden of sin and how he that is forgiven much loves much. Sin is your knowledge of your failings, failing to keep the commandments of God. Failing to keep up, lack of ability, inability to be perfect or the person you should be. James 4.17 to him that knows to do good and does it not, to him it is sin.

John Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world gives. Let not you heart be troubled neither let it be afraid. I will not leave you comfortless; I will come to you. The comforter which is the Holy Ghost, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said to you. Acts 2.4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit of God gave them utterance.

Joh 1622 And you now therefore have sorrow: but your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man takes from you. John 3.5 Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Marvel not that I said to you, you must be born again. Acts 2.41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized and the same day there were added unto them 3,000 souls.
15
Healing from God Acts 1.8 You shall receive power, after the Holy Ghost is come upon you and you shall be witnesses. 2 Timothy 1.7 For God has not given to us the Spirit of fear; but of power, and of love and of a sound mind. John I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly. ( in full measure). Luke when a strong man armed keeps his palace, his goods are in peace.

Healing from God Philippians 4.6 Be careful (anxious) for nothing: but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made know unto God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
