Girls on the Run: A non-profit organization that uses the power of running to encourage girls to stretch themselves physically, mentally, emotionally and socially while training for a 5K run.
Our program…
An innovative health education and wellness program that uniquely combines training for a 5k run/walk event with life changing, self-esteem enhancing lessons that encourage healthy habits and an active lifestyle in 8-13 year old girls.
Last year, over 3,600 girls participated at 220 program sites, 50% of which received scholarships from Girls on the Run of the Rockies.
We currently have 8 schools on a waiting list for the program as we continue to secure partnerships and funding to make their sites active.

Join Girls on the Run of the Rockies and University of Colorado Hospital – Women’s Integrated Services in Health and Center for Women’s Health Research for the 9th annual 5K event.
The 5K is one of our major fundraisers and helps to support our scholarship-based schools. Each season, Girls on the Run of the Rockies provides scholarships to the program to 50% of its participants.
Last year’s 5K hosted over 2,900 runners and 800 spectators. In addition, we secured numerous sponsors and almost 20 companies participate in the race expo.
