The Covenants of Promise to Abraham and David
4
Galatians 3:6-9 6 Consider Abraham: “He believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” 7 Understand, then, that those who believe are children of Abraham. 8 The Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: “All nations will be blessed through you.” 9 So those who have faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith. Acts 13: “We tell you the good news: What God promised our fathers 33 he has fulfilled for us, their children, by raising up Jesus. Romans 1:1-4 - Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God— 2 the gospel he promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures 3 regarding his Son, who as to his human nature was a descendant of David, The Covenants of Promise to Abraham and David The Covenants of Promise to Abraham and David

Hebrews 11:8-108 By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going. 9 By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise. 10 For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God The Covenants of Promise to Abraham and David

Gen. 13: The LORD said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, “Lift up your eyes from where you are and look north and south, east and west…. 17 Go, walk through the length and breadth of the land, for I am giving it to you.” Gen. 15: On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram and said, “To your descendants I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates Gen. 17: The whole land of Canaan, where you are now an alien, I will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants after you; and I will be their God.” The Covenants of Promise to Abraham and David

Heb. 11:9 “By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise”… 13 All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance. And they admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth. Genesis 23:8-9 “He said to them, “If you are willing to let me bury my dead, then listen to me and intercede with Ephron son of Zohar on my behalf 9 so he will sell me the cave of Machpelah, which belongs to him and is at the end of his field. Ask him to sell it to me for the full price as a burial site among you.” The Covenants of Promise to Abraham and David

Acts 7:5 5 He gave him no inheritance here, not even a foot of ground
Acts 7:5 5 He gave him no inheritance here, not even a foot of ground. But God promised him that he and his descendants after him would possess the land, even though at that time Abraham had no child. The Covenants of Promise to Abraham and David

Heb. 11:39,40 39 These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised. 40 God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect. The Covenants of Promise to Abraham and David

2 Tim. 4:1,8: 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. The Covenants of Promise to Abraham and David

The Promise of the Seed Gen. 12:2,3 - 2 “I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you” Gen. 13: I will make your seed like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust, then your seed could be counted. Gal. 3:16, The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed
Gal. 3:16, The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. The Scripture does not say “and to seeds,” meaning many people, but “and to your seed,” meaning one person, who is Christ. Acts 3:25,26, 25 And you are heirs of the prophets and of the covenant God made with your fathers. He said to Abraham, ‘Through your seed all peoples on earth will be blessed.’ 26 When God raised up his servant (Christ), he sent him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways.” The Covenants of Promise to Abraham and David

Rom. 9:7 6 It is not as though God’s word had failed
Rom. 9:7 6 It is not as though God’s word had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel. 7 Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham’s children. On the contrary, “It is through Isaac that your seed will be reckoned.” 8 In other words, it is not the natural children who are God’s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s seed. Speak about the nature of the promise The Covenants of Promise to Abraham and David
17
Gal. 3: You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. How? 1. We are told to leave the confines of this world. Flee from darkness. 2. Being "persuaded of them" - if it took a process of persuasion with Abraham, how much more so with us? 3. Embracing them - by being baptized into Christ 4. Confessing to the world by our way of life that this world is not our real home, but we are living in hope of that future age to come upon the earth.
