templates s can be found and created under the Assets > s tabs As all asset, it is organised by regional folders Naming convention has to be applied to find them quicker and keep a clean environment You can find the templates by clicking Create an > All files (left side bar) > Global templates X If you are creating your without any existing template, make sure you select “Blank HTML ”. Using “Blank ” is not an optimum solution.

Settings Headers and Footers: Additional headers and footers can be created in the component library Subject line From address: make sure you have the domain matches the bounceback domain. You can then drag and drop it Field merge: This gives you the ability to personalise your s and use contact data points within s E.g. “Dear [FIRST NAME]” Shared Content: This is content that can be re-used in multiple s. If the master content is updated, it will be updated in all s where it is used. Dynamic content: Based on rules, it displays different content for different contacts. E.g Modern Mark banner in the you receive for this training changes depending on your region. Cloud Content: This allows us to integrate with external data sources.

Tools box component The tools box is the same as landing pages tools box – it allows you to manage hyperlinks and formatting. Landing page: Refers to an Eloqua Landing page Webpage: Any other external links File in File storage: Any document you have saved in the Eloqua components library and you want to link it to (PDF, PPT…) System action: Implies pre-configured system actions. One of the best example is the unsubscribe link you must have at the bottom of each of your . Eloqua takes care of managing this.

Best practices Keep it short both for subject line and for content/length Do not include big image files or attachments Make the links obvious that need to be clicked The more personalised, the better and more efficient: use field merge, dynamic content, shared content… Ensure settings are correct, a big cause of bounce backs are incorrect settings

Components

Images Images can be found and stored under the Assets > Components > Images As with all assets, it is organised in a folder structure Naming convention should to be applied to find them quicker and keep a clean environment for others When double clicking on a specific image, details are provided for this image such as the full image URL, Thumbnail URL, dimensions, asset dependencies, creator of the image and when it has been uploaded From a specific image view you can manage the permissions, download it, rename it or update the image with a new version The dimensions of images can be views in the folder structure without having to open the image Click the upload button on the top right corner from the folder view to upload new images Do not upload large file size images, this will impact your bounce rates

Dynamic Content Dynamic content can be found and created under the Assets > Components > Dynamic Content Naming convention should be applied to find them quicker and keep a clean environment for others Dynamic content can display a variety of content based on rules: Do not forget to set up a default rule Criteria for the rule can include comparing contact fields or account fields, linked contact in custom object or linked record in event The content itself can include text, fields merge, images and/or links Example of dynamic content: the Modern Mark banner you receive across this Eloqua training campaign is based on your region

Shared content Shared content can be found and created under the Assets > Components > Shared Content Naming convention should be applied to find them quicker and keep a clean environment for others Dynamic content is used when you need to re-use a same block of content across multiple s The content itself can include text, fields merge, images and/or links Example of dynamic content: The “your progress” status boxes located in the Eloqua training s you recieve
