Science Project Type your project title here Your name Mueller Park Junior High
2
Statement of the Problem
Type your question here. (This is the question that your experiment answers.)
3
Research Summarize your research here in three to
five bullet points (you do not need to use them all, only what it takes to summarize SIMPLY): 1st bullet point 2nd bullet point 3rd bullet point 4th bullet point 5th bullet point Actual research websites will be on a slide at the end of this PPT, not here.
4
Hypothesis Type your hypothesis here.
5
Independent Variable Independent variable: The one variable that you purposely change and test. Feel free to add a picture if you have an appropriate one.
6
Dependent Variable Dependent variable: The measure of change observed because of the independent variable. Feel free to add a picture if you have an appropriate one.
7
Controlled Variables Controlled variables: These are the things that are kept the same throughout your experiments. It is nice to have at least three controlled variables. Feel free to add a picture if you have an appropriate one.
8
Control Group Control Group: a comparison or baseline for your experiment, used in comparing your dependent variable results. Feel free to add a picture if you have an appropriate one. Not every experiment has a control group. Delete this slide if you do not have a control group. MOST OF YOU DON’T NEED THIS SLIDE.
9
Materials Type a detailed list of the items you needed to complete your experiments. Be specific about the amounts used. Use a bullet for each material on your list.
10
Materials Continue materials here if more space is needed.
If not, delete this slide (ask for help if you don’t know how to delete it).
11
Procedures List all of the steps used in completing your experiment.
Remember to number your steps. Be specific. Add photos of your experiments on the slide by your steps. This may take more than one slide to do.
12
Procedures If you need more than one slide to continue your procedure, here it is. If you do not need to use this slide, you may delete it. (Ask if you need help doing this!) If you need still more slides, ask and you will be shown how to create them. Change bulleted numbers to match what you need.
13
Data and Observations Insert your data table here.
Make sure all data is clearly labeled. Label, label, label.
14
Data and Observations Describe observations made.
Include any scales you used to take descriptions and assign them a number.
15
Graph Insert your graph here. Make sure all data is clearly labeled.
Label, label, label. Do NOT type a graph explanation. Plan on explaining the graph verbally when you present your project.
16
Evaluation of Data Discuss what your graph showed you.
What patterns do you see with your data overall? What does your data show you? Use numbers and refer to your data numbers! Remember: These are summary statements!
17
Conclusion Type a brief summary here of what you discovered based on the results of your experiments. You need to indicate whether or not the data supports the hypothesis. Explain why or why not.
18
Conclusion If you need an additional slide, here it is.
19
Recommendations Explain what a logical/practical application of your findings would be. Explain what you would do differently if repeating this experiment. List any recommendations for further experimentation. What experiment would you do next? Remember: These are summaries only.

Works Cited Be sure to include print and electronic sources and put them in alphabetical order. (That means include the web addresses of your research sources)
