CAES RC - Overview Purpose: To provide degree opportunities in traditional liberal arts & sciences disciplines, as well as teacher certification through a comprehensive education and special education program. In addition, the college serves as the primary provider of general education coursework for students across the university. Composition: CAES is comprised of the School of Education (including the Departments of Education & Special Education) and seven liberal arts & sciences departments (including the Departments of Communication; Psychology; Social Sciences; English & Modern Languages; Chemistry, Mathematics & Physics; Biology & Geosciences; and Visual & Performing Arts). The college also includes the Liberal Studies program, the Women & Gender Studies program, and several interdisciplinary minors. By the Numbers: CAES employs 19 FTE staff and 117 FTE regular faculty. In addition, at any given point, the college employs approximately 15 FTE temporary faculty. At the end of Drop/Add Spring 2016, CAES had 2215 headcount students ( ).
