1 Stoichiometry & Gas Laws Unit Test Review 2017

2 Test: Thursday June 8th…
Make sure you complete the Review Packet (Blue) if you want the bonus points on top off you test ON TIME. (Due in YOUR class period when taking the test…) Be sure that If you are ABSENT for the test day that the absence is excused. Students that are UNEXCUSED absent will not be given credit for the exam. Absences are excused through the Attendance office Tests are equal to three quizzes and there is not an opportunity for Re-takes on tests.

3 Work with your partners to answer the following question…
A reaction between hydrazine (N2H4 ) and dinitrogen tetroxide (N2O4 ) has been used to launch rockets into space. The reaction produces nitrogen gas and water vapor. 1. Write out the complete balanced equation showing the mole ratios for this reaction?

4 Work with your partners to answer the following question…
A reaction between hydrazine (N2H4 ) and dinitrogen tetroxide (N2O4 ) has been used to launch rockets into space. The reaction produces nitrogen gas and water vapor. 1. Write out the complete balanced equation showing the mole ratios for this reaction? 2. What is the amount of hydrazine in grams is needed to produce 2000 liters of Nitrogen gas (assume STP conditions) .

5 Work with your partners to answer the following question…
Ethanol, (C2H5OH) is considered a clean fuel because it burns completely (combustion) to produce water and carbon dioxide with few trace pollutants. 3. If 95.0 grams of water are produced during the combustion of ethanol, how many grams of ethanol were present at the beginning of the reaction?

6 Work with your partners to answer the following question…
Ba(OH) HCl  BaCl H2O Use the UNBALANCED formula to answer the following question… 4. If 500 mL of 4M HCl reacts completely, what mass of H2O will be produced?

7 Work with your partners to answer the following question…
5. Choose which of the following measurements shows the highest pressure: Show some work… A 0.89 atm B kPa C lb/in2 D torr

8 Work with your partners to answer the following question…
6. A carbon dioxide gas cartridge under 1000mm Hg pressure has a volume of 200 ml at 22oC. If that cartridge (with its volume remaining constant) is placed into a fire or oven, and the temperature is elevated to 450C, what would be the pressure of the gas (in mm Hg) inside the heated container?

9 Work with your partners to answer the following question…
7. Carbon monoxide at a pressure of mm Hg in a vessel of 420 mL expands to a new volume of 630 mL. What is the new pressure in kPa?

10 Work with your partners to answer the following question…
8. Given 90.0 mL of H2 gas collected when the temperature is 27o C, how many mL will the H2 occupy at 42o C?

11 Work with your partners to answer the following question…
Hydrogen gas is made by mixing hydrochloric acid (HCl) and Zinc through a single replacement reaction. (aqueous zinc chloride is the other product) 9. If 2.5 Liters of hydrogen gas is collected through water displacement at 22o C and 755 mm Hg. How many grams of Zn reacted?

12 Work with your partners to answer the following question…
Hydrogen gas is made by mixing hydrochloric acid (HCl) and Zinc through a single replacement reaction. (aqueous zinc chloride is the other product) 10. If 2.5 Liters of hydrogen gas is collected through water displacement at 22o C and 755 mm Hg. How much hydrochloric acid was needed (exactly) if the acid concentration is 4.5 Molarity?

13 Answers slide… Mole coefficients 2,1,3,4 About 1905 grams N2H4
81 grams ethanol 36 grams water produced 22.6 PSI is highest P2 = 1078 mmHg P2 = kPa V2 = 94.5 ml 6.67 grams Zinc 22.88 mL of 4.5M HCl
