Policies Course syllabus | ……………………………………………………………………………...…………….. technology You are expected to follow the “phone status” posted in our classroom. Not following the phone status, your phone will be placed in my desk for the remainder of the class period. Frequent reoccurring offenses will result in parent contact, detention, and revocation of phone privileges during class. *We will be utilizing various resources to access the Internet in order to research, review material, and submit assignments. You must hold yourselves to high expectations when you use these resources. Your time must be spent well and responsibly. Abuse of this privilege will result in revocation of phone use. LATE/make-up work The expectation is that you submit all assignments on time. Late work = zero. You will be assigned a detention before or after school in my classroom to complete the assignment or an alternate assignment. Once complete, the new grade will replace the zero in the gradebook. If absent, it is your responsibility to follow proper procedures to ensure that you receive your work. You will be allowed the amount of time equal to the number of days absent to complete the make-up work. ……………………………………………………………………………...…………….. Academic dishonesty All work that you submit must be your own work. You may not do any of the following: Turn in or copy someone else’s work. Copy someone’s work and change a few of the words. Copy words from a source without citing it and giving credit to the source. Attempt to use any notes on a closed-note assignment. Look at someone else’s work or have your phone out during a quiz, test, or individual assessment. If you are doing any of the above or anything else that constitutes cheating, you will receive a zero on that assignment and disciplinary action. You will have an opportunity for an alternative assignment with a maximum grade of 80 to replace the original zero. Other policies No food or eating in the classroom. You may bring a bottled water as long as it can be completely sealed closed. Incomplete classwork will be assigned as homework. In cases of assigned HW, you are expected to write the details in your agenda. Do not interrupt valuable instruction to ask to go to the bathroom. Please wait for an appropriate time, after the intro of a lesson or after complete work. Arrive on time. 3 tardies = parent contact Come prepared to class with your materials and a positive attitude. Be respectful to everyone. Put-downs and rudeness are not tolerated. Clean up after yourself and treat all materials with respect. I am here for YOU! Don’t be afraid to ask for help or voice any questions or concerns you may have. ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
