3. On the ground
A lot of initiatives based on the principles of the Rio Conventions :
Most initiatives focus on biodiversity conservation linked to countries’ richness
Climate change action addresses mitigation (mainly avoided deforestation and land use/land use change) and adaptation of ecosystems and local communities
Limited resources for Sustainable Land Management initiatives  small-scale actions
Necessity of a global framework to capitalize all good practices identified at pilot scale
LDN provides a framework to enhance synergies among Rio Conventions

4. National Action Programme (2013 updated)
12 out of 22 Administrative Regions affected by DLDD (30,24% of the country)
Priority areas : 27,8% of affected areas
Simulation : Extension of affected regions expected to increased to 40,79 % in the 10 coming years
 More integrated approach needed to address land degradation at landscape level
