CHANGES in educational system
1st January 2013 State provides the salary for teachers Local Governments provide buildings Kindergartens still supervised by LG You arrived in those times when there have been several changes in the educational system in all the country. Before the 1st of January this year most of the kindergartens and schools were financed by the local governemnets. However, after this significant date the State has taken the control from the local governments. And from this time the teachers’ salaries have been paid by the State, and the Local Governments have provided the bulidings. Kindergartens are still financed by the Local governments.

CHANGES in Kisújszállás
Supervision by Churches 2 Reformed schools 3 Baptist schools and 1 kindergarten 1 state school Something other has happened in Kisújszállás. The town council had decided to give the supervision to the Churches before the State would have taken the control of the schools. That is why there have been 2 Reformed schools and 3 Baptist schools and a kindergarten. There is only one school inh town which is supervised by the State. Reformed Church

Students 2600 students 600 from neighbouring towns
In these 6+1 educational institutions there are around 2600 students all together. And one fifth of them, around 600 students, are from the neighbouring towns and villages.

Kindergarten 1 institution with 5 bulidings
Now I am going to introduce you in some words our institutions. Let’s begin with the smallest, the kindergartens. In our town there is ony one kindergarten, but with 5 bulidings.

Kindergarten 14 groups 300 children Ages 3-6 Baptist Charity Service
There are 14 groups with about 300 children in this kindergarten. Their ages are varied between 3 to 6 . The kindergarten, as I mentioned before, is fiancially supported by the Baptist Charity Service. Kindergarten

János Arany Reformed Elementary School
Reformed Church 01 Sept 2013 joined with Secondary school 500 students The János Arany Reformed Elementary School is under the control of the Reformed Church as you can see it from its name. From the 1st of September 2013 the institution has joined together with the secondary school- Móricz. In the primary school there are about 500 pupils.

Physical Education Hungarian Folkdance Science Information Technology In the primary school students learn PE in extra lessons. Hungarian Folkdance is an interesting subject among pupils and atudents are very excellent in Science and IT. I teach IT as well. Considering the town’s elementary schools our school has the most outstanding results in the competitions.

Baptist Charity Service 450 Students The other elementary school of Kisújszállás- Lajos Kossuth Elementary School- is under the control of the Baptist Charity Service with about 450 pupils.

Music & Art Chorus Drama groups Music and Arts are the strenghts of this school. Their Chorus and drama groups are very successful.

Student Hostel 25-30 Students Disadvantaged Students A student hostel for disadvantaged students also belongs to the school with about students.

Art School Baptist Charity Service 300 Students 3 courses
Kisújszállás has an Art School as well, which is supervised by the Baptist Charity Service. Students take courses here after scool, as extra lessons. They have about 300 students who can choose from 3 faculties- Music- Folk dance- and Arts.

Art School Music - piano, violin, cello, flute, clarinet, drums
The oldest is the Faculty of Music. The most popular instruments are piano, violin, cello, flute, clarinet, and drums.

Art School Folk dance Nagykun Folk Dance Group
Folk dance is also very popular, that is why Kisújszállás has a very successful folk dance group- the Nagykun Folk Dance Group who has had performances in many places in the country.

Arts Graphics Painting Sculpture
The last Faculty is Arts. Students can learn here Arts, Graphics, Painting or Sculpture.

Secondary Schools 2 schools
Móricz Zsigmond Református Kollégium, Gimnázium, Szakközépiskola és Általános Iskola In our town there are 2 secondary schools where the students can continue their studies. The oldest is Zsigmond Móricz Reformed Secondary, Technical and Primary School.

4 year grammar school Language preparatory classes Specialised to Economics and IT Final Exam Vocational School (1-2 years) Those who choose this school can attend 4 year grammar school, language preparatory classes –which last for 5 years, specialised to economics or IT for 4 years. These studies end with a Final Exam. Those who would like to study a trade can attend 1 or 2 year classes in the vocational school. They can get a trade as system administrator or logistics manager.

Zsigmond Móricz Reformed College, Secondary, Technical School and Primary School
The school attracts about 500 students and 60% of them are from the neighbouring towns. The school offers them a student hostel as well. Over 500 students 60% from neighbouring towns Student Hostel

Innovative - several projects Competency based education Better to attend school Useful knowledge and skills in practice First in the country to be introduced This secondary school is the most innovative school of our town. Several European Union projects were successful in the school. Especially the school has significant role in competency based education which aim is to introduce such methods to school that attending classes is better. This gives useful knowledge and skills in practice for students. Our school was the first school in our county where Competency based education was introduced.

Sándor Illésy Baptist Technical and Vocational School
Sándor Illésy- first mayor of Kisúj Vocational training school Trades and trainings are changing according to the law The other secondary school in town is the Sándr Illésy Baptist Technical and Vocational School which got its name from the first mayor of the town. This school offersr vocational training. Its trades and trainings are varied according to the current laws.

Get a trade in 3-4 years Metal worker Locksmith Carpenter Shop assistant Waiter Chef Training workshops Students can get a trade in 3-4 years time some example trades which they offer:Metal worker, locksmith, carpenter, shop assistant, waiter, chef. Students do their practical trainings in special training workshops.

György Kádas Elementary School
Supervised by the Government Segregated institution Mentally disabled children György Kádas Elementary School The last institution of Kisújszállás is the György Kádas Elementary school which is supervised by the State. This institution is segregated which means it works with mentally disabled children.

State care in homes 8-10 children in a family house Regional institution Their role is also to work with children under state care in homes children live togeher in a family house with their teachers. With this real family model is tried to create. It is a regional institution, children from the county come to stay in these houses.

Our aim Responsibility for schools Good relationships with Supervisors
Supporting school activities Supporting students and teachers To summarize, the Local government gave the control to the Churches, however we still feel responsibility for the schools. WE have good relationships wwith the Supervisors and we discuss the duties regulary. The Local Government feel responsibility for school activities students and teachers as well.
