5. Purpose
Connects businesses with skilled transitioning Sailors prior to separation
Provides Sailors with apprenticeships and internships to better assist job opportunities before becoming Veterans

6. Benefits
Provides skill set training and experience for transitioning Sailors
Sailors can attend internships while still in the service
Both the sponsoring companies and the Sailor benefits from the program
Strong opportunities for employment after completion of training

7. Eligibility Command approved Within 180 days of transition
Honorable Discharge or Other Than Honorable Discharge (Under Honorable Conditions)
Passed most recent PFA
Recommended for Advancement
Completed TGPS requirements

8. Skillbridge Programs Onward to Opportunity Customer Excellence
Information Technology (IT)
Cyber Security
Project Management
Human Resources
Certifications in areas of Small Office Helpdesk, Networking, Security, or Programming
No cost to Sailor or eligible Military Spouses

9. Skillbridge Programs (Cont.)
Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning/Refrigeration (HVACR) / Veterans in Piping
18 week course job training course on NS Norfok
Students placed in five year apprenticeship program upon completion of course
500 locations nationwide
No cost to Sailor
Program currently on hold

10. Skillbridge Programs (Cont.)
Solar Ready Vets
Training program that provides intensive solar workforce training.
Five week classroom training at TCC
Students will take the NABCEP Certification Exam
Uses GI Bill
Cannot use Tuition Assistance

11. Skillbridge Programs (Cont.)
Commonwealth Center for Advanced Manufacturing (CCAM)
Provides a direct pathway into skilled advanced manufacturing position
18 weeks instruction (7 weeks online/11 weeks in training facility lab) at Tidewater Community College
Graduates are awarded several nationally recognized certifications
Tuition is covered for individuals that qualify for benefits through the Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA) program

12. Air Force Skillbridge
Known JTEST-AI-Job Training, Employment Skills Training, Apprenticeships, and Internships
Offered to Airman (Officers and Enlisted)
Similar requirements to DOD Skillbridge
Consists of Career Skills Programs (CSP)
Can apply while attending TGPS
