1 Technology Guidelines for Primary Students
This presentation was created to help primary students better understand our District’s Acceptable Use Policy.

2 What is an Acceptable Use Policy?
An Acceptable Use Policy is an agreement that students and teachers sign to make sure that they use the school technology tools properly for educational purposes.

3 What does the AUP cover? There are two levels of student access.
To Equipment and Software To the Internet Students and parents will both need to sign the Kyrene Student Handbook to access both levels.

4 Signing your AUP When you sign the Kyrene Student Handbook you are agreeing to follow all of the District technology guidelines correctly.

5 Not Signing your AUP N If you do not sign the Student Handbook, do not have parent/guardian permission, or if you break your agreement you will not be allowed to use District technology tools.

6 The District has the right to keep track of all uses of school technology!
None of the districts resources are private This includes: * *Internet Travels *Computers *And other technology equipment.

7 What does it mean when I sign my AUP?
I will use technology only for educational purposes. I will make sure to use school technology properly and to take care of the equipment.

8 What does it mean when I sign my AUP?
I will not view, send, or copy anything that is inappropriate, disrespectful, or threatening. I will push the back button and let my teacher know right away if I come to something inappropriate.

9 What does it mean when I sign my AUP?
I will not copy the work of others that I find on the Internet or on any other electronic resource. I will not copy anything that is protected by copyright.

10 What does it mean when I sign my AUP?
I will not give anyone my personal information on the Internet or through . Full Name School Home Address Phone Number Username and Password

11 What does it mean when I sign my AUP?
I will not share my username and password with anyone. I will not log in as anyone but myself. Keep Private Keep Private

12 Now you know all that is expected of you when you sign your Kyrene Student Handbook. Remember to do what is expected and to have fun using technology to learn.
