2 What is a PMP The PMP is the most distinguished and valued credential you can obtain in Project Management, A PMP credential grants a person with a globally recognized designation that serves as the foundation from which they can competently practice as a project manager, leading and directing project tasks. The PMP designation following your name tells everyone that you have a solid foundation of project management knowledge that can be readily applied in the workplace. And you have demonstrated your commitment to the profession. “Project management is the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to a broad range of activities in order to meet the requirements of a particular project. 7 What are Registered Education Provider’s
PMI link for REP Registered Education Providers (REPs) are organizations approved by PMI to offer project management training for Professional Development Units (PDU). Currently there are over 700 organizations from 55 countries in the PMI registry. In January 2004 PMI implemented new criteria and requirements for approving REPs. PMI is committed to verifying compliance with the new criteria for all organizations seeking to become REPs and all existing REPs upon their annual renewal date. While it is not possible to guarantee the success of every training activity offered by REPs, PMI can assure that approved organizations met the criteria at the time of their review and thus demonstrated the capability of producing effective learning events.
