34 SUMMARY: God first loved us and he is love; to dwell in him is to dwell in love. Our love for the brethren must be genuine such that we can approach God without the condemnation of our own conscience. Our love is matured when our minds are such that we live with a clear conscience, joyfully, without anxious worry, or torment regarding judgement to come. Our love is seen in keeping the commandments of God in a way that we do not see them as a burden. It is our faith that overcometh the world and giveth us the victory. We believe that we have eternal life in the Son of God who overcame by the spirit word, the waters of baptism and blood of a life poured out. We know him that is true and we are in him that is true by being in the Son who is the manifestation of the true God and eternal life. The whole world lieth in wickedness and so we are warned to keep ourselves from idols, our love is to be for God, His Son and the ecclesia. We must not love ourselves, our families, our money, our careers, the material world, the pleasures or anything else such that our love for God and His people are compromised.
