7 What a Day That Will Be!

8 He will accomplish His discipline of the nation Israel
“That Day” – the Great Tribulation – is a future time period when the Lord will accomplish at least two aspects of His end-times plan: He will accomplish His discipline of the nation Israel He will judge the unbelieving, godless inhabitants of the earth. Unknown

9 “That Day” – the Great Tribulation
The duration of the Great Tribulation is seven years.

10 In Chapter 11 True Shepherd is rejected.
He was sold for thirty pieces of silver, Three books of the Bible linked Exodus 21 – Zechariah 12 – Matthew 26

11 the church has been raptured. His arrival and acceptance
Chapter 11 also refers to a false shepherd – antichrist – who will appear after the church has been raptured. His arrival and acceptance will usher in the Great Tribulation.

12 16 This illustrates how I will give this nation
a [false] shepherd who will not care for those who are dying, nor look after the young, nor heal the injured, nor feed the healthy. Instead, this shepherd will eat the meat of the fattest sheep and tear off their hooves.”

13 The LORD will deliver Israel The LORD will cleanse Israel
The LORD speaks today

14

15 The LORD will deliver Israel

16

17 This message concerning the fate of Israel came from the Lord:
“This message is from the Lord, who stretched out the heavens, laid the foundations of the earth, and forms the human spirit.

18

19

20 when they send their armies to besiege Jerusalem and Judah.
2 I will make Jerusalem like an intoxicating drink that makes the nearby nations stagger when they send their armies to besiege Jerusalem and Judah.

21 will only hurt themselves.
3 On that day I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock. All the nations will gather against it to try to move it, but they will only hurt themselves.

22 4 “On that day,” says the Lord, “I will cause every horse to panic and every rider to lose his nerve. I will watch over the people of Judah, but I will blind all the horses of their enemies.

23 Lord of Heaven’s Armies, their God.’
5 And the clans of Judah will say to themselves, ‘The people of Jerusalem have found strength in the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, their God.’

24 6 “On that day I will make the clans of Judah like a flame that sets
a woodpile ablaze or like a burning torch among sheaves of grain. They will burn up all the neighbouring nations right and left, while the people living in Jerusalem remain secure.

25 7 “The Lord will give victory to
the rest of Judah first, before Jerusalem, so that the people of Jerusalem and the royal line of David will not have greater honour than the rest of Judah.

26 8 On that day the Lord will defend the people of Jerusalem; the weakest among them will be as mighty as King David! And the royal descendants will be like God, like the angel of the Lord who goes before them!

27 9 For on that day I will begin to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem

28 “Peace will come when the Arabs will love their children more than they hate us.”

29 Attributed to: Golda Meir
“When peace comes we will perhaps in time be able to forgive the Arabs for killing our sons, but it will be harder for us to forgive them for having forced us to kill their sons.” Attributed to: Golda Meir

30 The LORD will deliver Israel The LORD will cleanse Israel

31 and on the people of Jerusalem. They will look on Me whom they
10 “Then I will pour out a spirit of grace and prayer on the family of David and on the people of Jerusalem. They will look on Me whom they have pierced and mourn for Him as for an only son.

32 They will grieve bitterly for Him as for a firstborn son who has died.

33

34 11 The sorrow and mourning in Jerusalem on that day will be
like the great mourning for Hadad-Rimmon in the valley of Megiddo. (following the death of King Josiah)

35 will mourn alone, as will the clan of Nathan, 13 the clan of Levi,
12 “All Israel will mourn, each clan by itself, and with the husbands separate from their wives. The clan of David will mourn alone, as will the clan of Nathan, 13 the clan of Levi, and the clan of Shimei.

36 14 Each of the surviving clans from Judah will mourn separately, and with the husbands separate from their wives.

37 The LORD will deliver Israel The LORD will cleanse Israel
The LORD speaks today

38 Where will “that great day”
find you?

39 God wants His people to be
What Next? God wants His people to be “a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvellous light;” 1 Peter 2:9

40 God offers cleansing to His people today.
What Next? God offers cleansing to His people today.

41 at first, for I know it was painful to you for a little while.
What Next? 2 Corinthians 7 8 I am not sorry that I sent that severe letter to you, though I was sorry at first, for I know it was painful to you for a little while. 9 Now I am glad I sent it…

42 What Next? …not because it hurt you, but because the pain caused you to repent and change your ways. It was the kind of sorrow God wants His people to have, so you were not harmed by us in any way.

43 [to repentance] and results in salvation.
What Next? 10 For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin [to repentance] and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death.

44 What Next? Where are the nails that nailed Him there As He writhed in deep despair? If you're not serving Him, They're in your hands.

45 What Next? Where's the spear that pierced His side When my Lord was crucified? If you're not serving Him It's in your hands.

46 What Next? Christ is still the same He feels every pain When we disobey His command. Where's the hammer that drove the nails? If His will now you fail I'm afraid, my friend, It's in your hands

47 What Next? Romans 2 4…do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness [kindness] of God leads you to repentance?

48 What Next? 5 But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,

49 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth
What Next? 1 John 1 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

50 to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
What Next? 1 John 1 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

51 Turn your Eyes Upon Jesus

52 O soul are you weary and troubled. No light in the darkness you see
O soul are you weary and troubled? No light in the darkness you see? There's light for a look at the Saviour, And life more abundant and free:

53 Will grow strangely dim In the light of His glory and grace.
Turn you eyes upon Jesus, Look full in His wonderful face; And the things of earth Will grow strangely dim In the light of His glory and grace.

54 Through death into life everlasting He passed, and we follow Him there; Over us sin no more hath dominion For more than conquerors we are!

55 His Word shall not fail you—He promised; Believe Him, and all will be well: Then go to a world that is dying, His perfect salvation to tell!

56 Will grow strangely dim In the light of His glory and grace.
Turn you eyes upon Jesus, Look full in His wonderful face; And the things of earth Will grow strangely dim In the light of His glory and grace.

57

58 May your whole spirit, soul and body
23 May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it. 1 Thessalonians 5
