7. Homework Assignments may include any of the following subjects:
Language Arts (reading, writing, independent reading, and word study)

8. Reading Requirements Students are expected to read each night.
For 1st quarter, the students will have a weekly reading log to complete. The students will receive the log on Monday and it will be due on the following Monday.
1st quarter…students will complete 2 “book commercials”

Spelling program that is designed to be at each child’s unique level
Weekly sort comes home Monday
Sort every night
Students test on 10 words
WTW Test every Friday

10. Reading & Writing Workshop
Weekly lessons on different reading and writing strategies
Guided practice in school
Students will be given formative and summative assessments throughout and at the end of reading and writing units

11. Math Nightly homework to practice skills taught in class
Online component- directions to log on are available on my webpage to access activities and textbook
Quick checks and topic test

12. Science/Social Studies
Integrate non-fiction reading strategies such as text features and note taking
Students allowed to use notes on all quizzes and tests

13. Correct and Returns
Students must correct and return assignments with this written on it
Students have a choice to correct and return other work
Corrected answers are given half credit
Exceptions (T/F, matching, timed tests, etc.)
