3 Welcome! Please sign up for a Parent Teacher Conference time (back table) Please sign up to be a Room/Art Volunteer (back table) Please use the directions on your child’s desk to sign up for the Seesaw app.

4 My Goals Challenge students to do their best and grow as a learner
Learn through a variety of ways: Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Creativity (4C’s) Encourage group work and cooperative learning Meet the needs of each individual student Become independent learners

5 Rules/Rewards Respect Yourself, Respect Others, Respect the School, Be Ready to Learn Paws Marble Jar Think sheets

6 Snack Healthy snack Fruits & Vegetables
Please adhere to the District snack list

7 Homework Assignments may include any of the following subjects:
Language Arts (reading, writing, independent reading, and word study) Math Social Studies Science WTW

8 Reading Requirements Students are expected to read each night.
For 1st quarter, the students will have a weekly reading log to complete. The students will receive the log on Monday and it will be due on the following Monday. 1st quarter…students will complete 2 “book commercials”

Spelling program that is designed to be at each child’s unique level Weekly sort comes home Monday Sort every night Students test on 10 words WTW Test every Friday

10 Reading & Writing Workshop
Weekly lessons on different reading and writing strategies Guided practice in school Students will be given formative and summative assessments throughout and at the end of reading and writing units

11 Math Nightly homework to practice skills taught in class
Online component- directions to log on are available on my webpage to access activities and textbook Quick checks and topic test

12 Science/Social Studies
Integrate non-fiction reading strategies such as text features and note taking Students allowed to use notes on all quizzes and tests

13 Correct and Returns Students must correct and return assignments with this written on it Students have a choice to correct and return other work Corrected answers are given half credit Exceptions (T/F, matching, timed tests, etc.)
