Co-Curricular Activities
Honor Guard Small teams that develop an expertise in military drill. Teams include Color Guard, Standard Armed, Standard Unarmed, Exhibition Armed, Exhibition Unarmed and Sabers. Awareness Presentation Team Presentations to elementary and middle school students about transitioning to high school, Poly climate/curriculum, and the AFJROTC program. Community Service Volunteer service projects that benefit the school and surrounding community such as serving meals to the hungry, building care packages for military veterans, and playing BINGO with the elderly, Orienteering *NEW* A navigation race, often held in unfamiliar terrain, using a map and compass. Cadet Socials Social events that promote camaraderie and unit cohesiveness.

CEO Cup A series of competitive and non-competitive events to promote esprit de corps, teamwork, and self-confidence among JROTC cadets across Baltimore City Public Schools. September 5K Fun Run October Military Career Fair November Joint Leadership Academic Bowl Raider’s Challenge December Drill Competition March Military Ball April Toughest Team TBD Service Project Poly is the 2017 Best Annual JROTC Unit in Baltimore City!!

Classroom Rules/Procedures
All AFJROTC cadets shall: Arrive to class and be ready for roll call before the late bell rings Follow school policies regarding school ID, dress code and outerwear Refrain from eating or drinking in the classroom; clear bottles with water are allowed Refrain from abusive language and disrespectful behavior Refrain from using cell phones and electronic devices in the classroom Demonstrate academic integrity in all coursework, including uniform wear Roll Call: A systematic procedure led by cadets at the beginning of each class Includes roll call/attendance, pledge of allegiance and announcements Key players: First Sergeant, Element Leaders, Staff Commander & Flight Commander

Academics Take Note! The Air Force JROTC curriculum is comprised of:
Four (4) courses of Leadership Education Four (4) courses of Aerospace Science For academics, classes are grouped by grade (9th+10th & 11th+12th) Instructors “swap” between courses/classes every two (2) weeks For AY17-18, incoming 9th & 10th grade cadets will receive: LE200: Communication, Awareness and Leadership AS200: Science of Flight: The Gateway to New Horizons Grading policy: Academics (Classwork) 20% Assessments (HW, Quizzes/Tests) 25% Uniform Wear and Drill 40% Physical Training 15% Take Note!
