Before enabling the Auto Discovery, please note the following;
Depend on the set IP range setting, it will take too much time for completing the device search.
Our recommendation is to be set IP range within Class C segment.
Examples about how long it takes to complete the device search by setting IP range.
1) When class B segment is set and 100 devices are in the network;
(255x255–100) x 1 sec.* = sec. = 18 hours
2) When class A segment is set and 100 devices are in the network;
(255x255x255–100) x 1 sec.* = sec. = 4606 hours = 192 days
* 1 sec. is for a maximum time to search one IP. If no device is in the IP address, it takes 1 sec. as time-out time.

Before enabling the Auto Discovery, please note the following;
If two or more Basils are installed within the same network, and Auto Discovery is enabled more than two Basils, be careful not to overlap the same IP range. See the next slide for some examples;

Center can not access to Basil/device without any indication from customer site.
So, as worst case, you have to wait for a hour (default : 1 hour polling)
- To reduce the time, please make a test call from Basil

To utilize the service test call, test call is effective at the following;
Immediate execution
Normally, you have to wait for max. 1 hour to execute your request (polling) from the center server, or notifying the event of device registration to the center server. By making a test call, appliance (Basil) could receive the polling request from the center immediately E.g.: Basil/Device update/remove request from the center Notifying device registration from the customer site, etc.
Connection Check
Important:
If you make a test call at a time when it is out range from the “Calendar” setting of the site in the center GUI, the Basil/Device will receive an error.

Using this feature, the Basil can make a connection between the Basil and center server.

Select “RC Gate and Device Settings” menu
Select [Service Test Call] under Maintenance > Communication Server Calls
Click “Start”
Click “OK”
