Not happy with some aspects of this past year, community needs to be flexible. School has responded well to previous survey. Unhappy with the 4/5/6 split, happy to see the separate math classes. Unhappy with K/1, worried about kids falling through the cracks. It's obvious that funding is a problem based on supplies, activities. Overall, I love the school 3.79

10 Q8: Do you feel like RGS offers a high-quality education for your child? (1 star: Not at all; 5 stars: Yes, definitely) Answered: Skipped: 5 Comments: Inquiry based learning seems to benefit children who naturally excel in the classroom but not those who need more structure. Concerned about academic preparedness, particularly in math. Would like to see kids getting homework. Believe changes this year harmed the quality. 3.65

11 Q9: Does your student feel safe and respected by their peers
Q9: Does your student feel safe and respected by their peers? (1 star: Not at all; 5 stars: Absolutely) Answered: Skipped: 5 Comments: Have had bullying experiences, that took to long to be handled. 4.12

12 Q9: Please share with us more about how you and your child feel about RGS; experiences with classroom configurations and co-teaching models; questions you’d like answered; or anything else you’d like the board and staff to know about. Comments: Many saying K-1 and 4-6 combo classrooms was a bad decision, concerns with both academic and social aspects of these combinations. Also some concerns about the inconsistency of it year-to-year. Also, some requests to go back to straight grade-level classrooms However, there were also a couple comments like this: Initial concerns about combo but no issues stemming from the configuration. Concerned about the cuts in PE and after school athletics. Would like to see more challenging work overall, more “core curriculum” type work, at-home worksheets, something like a math club for those wanting more challenge. Concerns about the transition to 7th Grade. Grateful that teachers and staff are willing to try new things to better teach our students, provide wonderful, safe learning environment for children. Kids enjoy going to school. Need more communication about changes, gather and/or provide more information before announcing a decision. Would like more supervision on the playground. Would like 6th grade to go to Marshwood.
