This presentation covers our scanning solutions Duplicate Checking feature and the steps to Merge using Salesforce functionality. Duplicate records are checked when attempting to process a Lead or Contact based on fields you identify in the scan settings. Salesforce has built-in merge functionality, and it subject to changes and improvement during major releases and features enhancements. As a best practice, our scanning solution leverages standard Salesforce functionality for the most reliable, flexible and best customer experience.

8. Duplicate Check
If a Duplicate Record exist based on your rules for Leads or Contacts, you will be notified there is a duplicate found. You have the option to View, Cancel or Process the business card when a duplicate is found. When processing a duplicate Contact record, assign to the Account with the duplicate record. See next slide when viewing the Account with the duplicate records complete the process to merge/append the record.

To append/merge Contacts, go to the Account Record, highlight over the Contacts link, then click the Merge Contacts button.

11. Select the checkbox for the duplicate records, Click the Next button.

First Select the business card record as the Master Record. Select the values you want to retain in the merged record, then click the Merge button.

Approve Merge

Select the checkbox for the duplicate records, Click the Merge Leads button.

First Select the business card record as the Master Record. Select the values you want to retain in the merged record, then click the Merge button.

18. Click the OK button to merge the records.
Approve Merge
Click the OK button to merge the records.
