1 Welcome POS Synchronize Concept 08 Sept 2015

2 What is POS Synchronize Local Area Network (LAN)
2 To send and receive data between HQ and Outlet databases. Users can connect each others through VPN connection (Hamachi or other VPN software) or local network. HQ HQ Local Area Network (LAN) Outlets Outlets

3 Configuration Concept POS Standard / Basic (HQ)
3 sync Branch 1 INTERNET POS Counter A POS Counter A HQ POS Standard / Basic (HQ) sync DB DB Terminal 3 Terminal 4 DB Branch 2 sync sync attach POS Counter A POS Counter B attach POS Counter A POS Counter B DB Terminal 5 Terminal 6 sync DB POS Counter A Terminal 1 Terminal 2 DB Terminal 7

4 Sync Profile Always set at HQ account book.
4 Always set at HQ account book. Proper to manage and distribute all the terminals in each profile. (It depend on internet speed, database size) Always set to one way sync (HQ to outlets)

5 Sync Profile 5 When perform change code at outlet, it will prompt out sync profile let user to choose, and then it will use the HQ DBSetting to remote change code at HQ database. If the last all outlets synced date is more than 5 days from today date. It will not allow you to change code unless you perform speed sync first.

6 Sync Profile Status 6 GREEN: Synced until today date
Profile Name The date time of last master data finish sync The date time of last start sync The date time of last finish sync The date time of last transaction data finish sync The date time of last all outlets finish sync Status GREEN: Synced until today date ORANGE: 1 day and above no sync RED: days and above no sync

7 Sync Validation & Sequence
7 Checking outlet connection… Checking HQ connection… Checking DB version… Checking DB Sync license… Sync master data follow by sequence…

9 Full Sync You must perform full sync once setup a new sync profile.
9 You must perform full sync once setup a new sync profile. Full Sync will copy all master data from HQ to all outlets without trigger any change code. Full Sync is always perform two way sync to make sure all data is tally. Do not perform any Insert, Delete, and Change Code for master data during Full Sync.

14 Speed Sync 14 Perform speed sync after run successfully full sync once setup a new sync profile. Speed Sync will run faster and trigger for change code. (Based on table called ChangeLog) Speed Sync is same with auto sync when you have set auto sync services.

19 How To Check Auto Sync Error Log
19

20 Error 1: “Outlet xxx does not have DB Sync. Return value is null
Error 1: “Outlet xxx does not have DB Sync. Return value is null. Please insert POS dongle USB Key first” 20

21 Things To Check 21 Check at workstation computer (branch) whether got plugged in the dongle and make sure got DB sync module. Can use POSDGChecker.exe at folder C:\Program Files (x86)\AutoCount\POS.

22 Error 2: “Please make sure Apos Sync Client firewall port is open and service is started”
22

23 Things To Check 23 Make sure the services status for ‘APOS Sync Client’ us running.

24 Things To Check 24 Make sure window firewall is turn off.
If you don’t want turn off window firewall, you can manually open port for

25 Error 3: “Failed to get valid DB Sync license
Error 3: “Failed to get valid DB Sync license. Please register your POS license” 25 Solution: Make sure the account book at server side are registered.

26 Error 4: “The process cannot access the file C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\xxx
Error 4: “The process cannot access the file C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\xxx.dll because it is being used by another process” 26 Error might prompt out such as above screenshot caused by the file blocked by Avast Antivirus program

27 Things To Check 27 Solution: In order to avoid this, need to add an exception for the specific folder from being scanned by Avast, follow these steps. 1. Open the Avast user interface and go to ‘Settings‘ » ‘General‘ 2. Find the tab ‘EXCLUSIONS‘ and add specific folder.

28 Error 5: “Load Module License fails
Error 5: “Load Module License fails. (Result=RemoteUSBKeyNotFOundError)” 28

29 Things To Check 29 Solution: Go to Tools –> Program Control –> License Control –> Controlled by USB Key –> Put the server hamachi IP address at Remote USB Key

30 Error 6: “HQ POS Sync version number 3
Error 6: “HQ POS Sync version number 3.0.x is not match with sync client version number 3.0.x at terminal xx” 30 Solution: Make sure the program version (major number, minor number and build number) are same between server and outlet. Example: Server version= , Outlet version= (Sync are not allowed) Server version= , Outlet version= (Sync are allowed)

31 Error 7: “Check outlet to HQ connection failed
Error 7: “Check outlet to HQ connection failed. Unable direct sql server connection from outlet xxx to HQ” 31

32 Things To Check 32 Solution: Make sure server IP is put hamachi IP address instead of local IP address.

33 Error 8: “There is an error in XML document”
33

34 Things To Check 34 Possible Causes: 1. Carriage Return “\r”
2. Line Feed “\n” 3. Invalid Character “hexadecimal value 0x1E”

35 Things To Check 35 Solution: Go to Backend AutoCount POS Sync –> DB Sync –> SQL Query –> Select table (You need see the error message stop at which table) –> Press Check XML Error.

36 Error 9: “Please make sure current Port No ‘19318’ is not using by others program/ other sync profile and Auto Sync in turn off” 36

37 Things To Check 37 Solution: Make sure HQ Remoting Port is different in each sync profile. (Can use 19318, 19317, and below or 19320, 19321, and above)

38 Default listening Port for all outlets: 19319
Things To Check 38 HQ 19318 19320 19319 19319 19319 19319 19319 Outlet 1 Outlet 2 Outlet 3 Outlet 4 Outlet 5 Profile 1 Profile 2 Default listening Port for all outlets: 19319

39 Error 10: “The Alternative Item Code xxx is duplicated for Item Code xxx”
39

40 Things To Check 40 Solution:
Make sure the alternative code is not duplicated between different item code. If allow to duplicated, tick the option “Allow Duplicate Itemcode, Barcode and Alternative Code”

41 Error 11: “The Barcode xxx in UOM xxx is already used in the Barcode field of Item Code xxx”
41

42 Things To Check 42 Solution:
Make sure the bar code is not duplicated between different item code. If allow to duplicated, tick the option “Allow Duplicate Itemcode, Barcode and Alternative Code”

43 Error 12: “The Serial Number xxx of Item Code xxx has a negative balance quantity, it is not allowed” 43

44 Things To Check 44 Solution:
Make sure the serial number exist in the system. If allow to proceed serial number does not exist in system but still allow to save the transaction. Please go to Tools -> Options -> Stock -> General Stock Setting -> Tick Allow to issue out Serial Number not exist in the system.

45 Error 13: “Failed to enable constraints
Error 13: “Failed to enable constraints. One or more rows contain values violating non-null, unique, or foreign key constraints.” 45

46 Run DBCC CheckDB statement.
Things To Check 46 Solution: Run DBCC CheckDB statement.
