In roman mythology Mercury is the god of travel and thievery.
Mercury’s surface is very similar to the moon’s it’s very heavily cratered and it has no plate tectonics.

3. Venus
Venus is the second planet from the sun but it is the hottest planet because of the gas surrounding it.
In roman mythology Venus is the goddess of love.

4. Earth Earth is the third planet from the Sun.
So far it is the only planet we know of that can support life.
Earth’s atmosphere is mainly made
up of carbon dioxide and
oxygen.

5. Mars Mars is the forth planet from the Sun.
Mars is often referred to as the red planet
Mars is named after the roman god of war

6. Jupiter Jupiter is the fifth planet from the sun.
Jupiter is also the largest planet in our solar system.
It is referred to as a gas giant
It is one-thousandth of the size of the sun.

7. Saturn Saturn is the sixth planet from the sun.
Saturn is the second largest planet in our solar system.
It is also classed as a gas giant as well as Jupiter.

8. Uranus Uranus is the seventh planet from the sun.
It is also classed as a gas giant as well as Jupiter and Saturn.
It is named after the Greek god of the sky.

9. Neptune Neptune is the eighth planet from the sun.
Neptune is named after the roman good of the sea.
Neptune is the fourth largest planet by diameter.
Neptune is third biggest by mass.
