What do the girls get out of this? And those are great questions! Answer is, it’s all about the girls! Girl Scouts that participate develop five key skills that are essential to leadership, to success, and to life! The five skills include: Goal Setting, Decision Making, Money Management, People Skills, and Business Ethics. Girls learn to work as a team to accomplish common goals and solve problems, all while building the confidence they need to shine! And did we mention fun? They have a ton of fun along the way. Beyond the 5 skills, Girl Scouts earn fun Rewards and Dakota Dough based on sales levels. The troop also benefits by earning proceeds! Troops earn proceeds that can help them go to camp, take a trip, purchase Girl Scout uniforms and badges, complete a community service project and so much more! Every year Girl Scouts all over the country use their earnings to do amazing things in their communities and beyond. From helping animal shelters and feeding the homeless to raising awareness about bullying. Girl Scouts CAN and WILL do anything they put their minds to! To do these amazing things, Troops earn proceeds at: $0.75 for each nut and candy item $1.00 for each 1 lb Honey Roasted Mixed Nuts $3.00 for every magazine sold - AND this is up from $2.25 last year! Not only do the troops and girls benefit from the sale, The Service Units can also earn proceeds! 4 Girl Rewards Here we can take a look at this year’s Girl Rewards, as featured on the back of the nut order card. All rewards are cumulative – for instance if they sell 100 items in the Nut/Candy section – they also earn all the prizes leading up to it! New to our Fall Sale Program, Girl Scouts can choose the reward or Dakota Dough at each sales level! Note: At any level where a patch is available and girls pick Dakota Dough over the prize, they will still get the Patch. Using this rewards poster can be helpful as girls set their goals for the upcoming sale. You’ll notice the different sections of our rewards card.
