Payments Update for FY16
MAEP EEF Funds
Of the FY 2016 $2.26 billion allocated, approx. $214.6 million is paid with Educational Enhancement Funds (EEF) generated through sales tax revenues
Since MAEP EEF funds are subject to the availability of sales tax revenues, these funds are essentially “self-cutting”. When sales tax revenues go down, distribution of MAEP EEF funds are reduced. Once sales tax revenues go back up, the MAEP EEF funds are restored and distributed to districts. However, if sales tax revenues do not meet levels needed to fully fund EEF, districts may receive less than their original MAEP allocation
FY 2016 ended with a shortage of $1.9 million

Master Teacher Supplement
HB 207 (MS Code )
Classroom teachers in certain counties will receive an additional $4,000 per year (no other category)
Districts will receive the $10,000, plus fringe benefits
Counties affected: Adams, Amite, Bolivar, Claiborne, Coahoma, Issaquena, Jefferson, Leflore, Quitman, Sharkey, Sunflower, Washington and Wilkinson
Districts will begin receiving 1/12 in July
