Definition of a Function Each input has only one output. If x1 = x2, then f(x1) = f(x2) “Vertical Line test” Definition of One-to-One Each output has exactly one input “Horizontal Line Test” Definition of “Onto” All possible y-values are used Determine what characteristics are shown by the graphs on p.21 and 22
