1 Saturday Afternoon Lenten Retreats
“I think the best of all prayer is just to kneel or sit quietly and let Jesus pour Himself into our souls.” Venerable Mary Angeline Teresa, O.Carm. Saturday Afternoon Lenten Retreats Plan on a half-day (afternoon) of fasting and silent prayer, time alone with God - away from the daily bustle of activities. Give yourself a time of slowing down and being still with the Lord in prayer. Prayer is not only asking, or talking to God. Prayer is much more - prayer is walking with God. It is time set apart just to be with Him, and God longs for us to spend time with Him. What to bring: a familiar Bible, a Rosary, a notebook for journaling, pen/pencil, a devotional book to read, comfortable walking shoes, a portable music device, and earphones.  Things to do on your own in quiet surroundings:  Go for a walk with God – Journal – Read a devotional book or Bible – Have a coffee break with God – Meditate on the Names of God, the Cross, Creation Offered for you to contemplate silently: Reflection on prayer: Quotes of Venerable Mary Angeline on prayer Stations of the Cross: outdoors, weather permitting or indoor presentation Mother Angeline’s writing on prayer taken from Servant of God Mother M.
