5 COURSE GUIDELINES COURSE OBJECTIVES
developing BUSINESS COMMUNICATION SKILLS (written and oral: small talk, greeting and introductions, telephoning, solving problems, talking about work and leisure, writing s, making bookings and checking arrangements, eating out) acquiring SPECIALIST VOCABULARY (on selected business topics) developing GRAMMATICAL COMPETENCE better understanding of the difference between written/spoken language and formal/informal language (REGISTER AND STYLE) learning how to use dictionaries and other reference materials Introduction Timetable Course Organization Course Guidelines Grading Criteria Exams Course Content Study Material and Literature Tips to Remember

6 COURSE GUIDELINES COURSE REQUIREMENTS
REGULAR ATTENDANCE is obligatory (70% of classes) active CLASS PARTICIPATION CONTRIBUTION TO CLASS WORK (home assignments, individual and team assignments) passing the PROGRESS TESTS (2 written tests) or the FINAL WRITTEN EXAM passing the FINAL ORAL EXAM (ability to use business communication skills in everyday business formal and informal situations, discuss business issues, and present simple case studies) Introduction Timetable Course Organization Course Guidelines Grading Criteria Exams Course Content Study Material and Literature Tips to Remember

7 GRADING CRITERIA The FINAL GRADE consists of:
