2 Adults Driving According to a 2006 article, 28% of adult drivers actually admit that they did not drive carefully for the reason that they were using their cell phones. We see that cell phones have become an important element in the daily life of the American people. 35% of adult drivers use cell phones while they drive. Nikolaos Evangelakis /12/2009

3 Teenage Driving It is obvious that teenagers follow the lead of their parents. According to the information mentioned earlier, is considered that 37% of adult drivers at some point of their lives, use a cell phone while they drive. As it can be seen, 75% of all American teens between own a cell-phone. Most of those teens got their phones from their parents without them knowing the risk of their actions. As a result, 66% of those teens are using their phones to text and receive messages. One of the main disadvantages, is that teenagers are consuming most of their time using their cell-phones. Therefore they are loosing precious time that it could be used more efficiently. Nikolaos Evangelakis /12/2009

4 16-17 Teenagers 16-17 is the age normally teenagers gets a cell-phone. In a percentage of all teens in America, 82% has a cell-phone. The 67% of these teens are addicted to text and receive messages daily. According to the article, a lot of teenagers have admitted, that they have texted while they were driving. We are also able to see that half of the teenagers that own a cell-phone between 16 and 17 years old (52%), admitted that they were talking to the cell-phone while they were driving. 5 Public Risk Almost the half percentage of the teenagers between say that they were in a car which it was driven either by adult or teenager and at some point they were texting. 40% of the teenagers, support that were present in a car while the teenager driver was using a cell phone in a way that put him/her self in danger and the other passengers as well. This careless way of driving is a real danger to the public and more generally to the society. Nikolaos Evangelakis /12/2009
