1 Popplets Using the Popplet app, create a Plot Diagram Map for the events of the story “The Third Wish.” Follow the directions below to complete the activity. Open Popplet app. Create a new Popplet, First, make a Class/Name/Title Popplet New Popplet….Type: Exposition. At the bottom of this bubble, create three more bubbles and label them: Characters, Setting, and Plot. Fill each one in! Make these large enough so that you can type in more information inside them. Connect a Popplet to the Exposition. Call it Conflict – fill it in! Connect a Popplet to the Conflict. Call it Rising Action. Create 3 popplets for Rising Action and connect them. Label them: Event #1, Event #2, and Event #3. Fill each one in! Connect a Popplet to the Rising Action. Call it Climax. Fill it in! Connect a Popplet to the Climax. Call it Falling Action. Fill it in! Connect a Popplet to the Falling Action popple. Call it Resolution. Fill it in! Go back and fill in the missing information for your Plot Diagram Map using “The Third Wish”. You should have all parts of the plot diagram Plot Diagram Map filled out. To save your Plot Diagram Popplet on your iPad: Click Export, then click save JPEG. It should be in Photos! This task uses: Common Core/NG Standard(s): RL.8.2 – Determine a theme or central idea of a text and analyze its development over the course of the text, provide an objective summary of the text. RL.8.3 – Analyze how particular elements of a story or drama interact. RL.8.4 – Determine the meaning of words and phrases as they are used in a text, including figurative and connotative meanings, analyze the impact of rhymes and other repetitions of sounds (alliteration) on a specific verse or stanza of a poem or section of a story or drama.
