2 Elements of Plot Cut out the heading and the rectangular sheet.
Slice it on the lines leaving the left side in one piece. Glue it down on the left side so we can define UNDER the flaps.

4 Do I know what the five stages of plot are?
series of events that make up the story Five stages Exposition (Inciting Incident) Rising action Climax Falling action Resolution

5 Exposition the first part of the plot
characters, setting, and basic situation are revealed

6 Inciting Incident The event that sets the story in motion
makes the rest of the story possible

7 Rising Action main part of the story moves the plot along where complications arise

8 Climax the most exciting or intense part of the story for the protagonist Where the protagonist comes face to face with the conflict usually a turning point in the story

9 Falling Action events that follow the climax and lead to the resolution conflicts begin moving towards resolution

10 Resolution the end of the story
loose ends of the plot are tied up and remaining questions are answered conflicts are resolved
