3 Russification Everyone was encouraged and even required to adopt the Russian language and culture. Czars used it. After gaining power, the Soviet government . Abolished nobility Took power from czarist officials, land-lords, and business owners.

7 The Soviet Union: A Classless Society?
Unfortunately, they were unable to make a classless society. This is because communist party members became a new elite with special privileges.

By guaranteeing employment, Keeping rents and food prices low, Providing benefits such as old-age pensions and free health care.

Shortages of goods and of living space.

Many families separated by the war were never reunited Parents had fewer children because apartments were so small.

11 Why the Soviet government wanted to undermine religion
Because the government wanted people to be loyal to communists ideals, not to God or to religious leaders.

12 Ways that the schools showed support for communism or capitalism.
USSR Schools were propaganda tools for the government. USSR taught about “evils of capitalism” Soviets were forced to study Marx and Lenin’s ideas. US Schools reinforced values such as democracy, individualism, and capitalism. Back To Top
