It is available for iOS and Android and it allows people to create and view discussion threads within a 5-mile radius (termed "Yaks" by the application).[2] All users have the ability to contribute to the stream by writing, responding, and "voting up" or "voting down" (liking or disliking) yaks. Whisper is a mobile app available without charge, which says that it allows users to send messages anonymously, and to receive replies.[3][4] Users post messages, known as "whispers," which are displayed as text superimposed over an image automatically retrieved from Whisper's own search engine or uploaded by the user. Kik Messenger, commonly called simply Kik, is a proprietary instant messenger software application (app) for mobile devices from the Canadian company Kik Interactive, available free of charge on iOS, Android, and Windows Phoneoperating systems.[1] Kik Messenger is modeled after BlackBerry Messenger.[2] It uses a smartphone's data plan or Wi-Fi to transmit and receive messages, photos, videos, sketches, mobile webpages, and other content after users register a username. The app has been criticized as unsafe for minors due to its anonymity features and allegedly weak parental control mechanisms. ASKfm is a global social networking site where users create profiles and can send each other questions. Vine is a short-form video sharing service where users can share six-second-long looping video clips
