2. 9-1 Maths – need to know
The demand is higher than on the old course at foundation and higher tier level.
Everyone (nationally) is in the same position!

3. The exams There will be three 1.5 hour exams (all 80 marks)
Paper 1: Non calculator (25th May)
Paper 2: Calculator (8th June)
Paper 3: Calculator (13th June)
Any taught content can appear on any paper.
Don’t assume that questions must involve using a calculator just because they’re on the calculator paper!

4. What students need Calculators £6 (or £8 solar) Available from me
Please do not ask to buy (or borrow) one on the exam day!
Please do make sure you know how to use it in advance!

5. What they should be doing
Get a revision guide and workbook - £5 from me for both
Complete workbook pages weekly. Annotate any Qs/pages that need teacher input

6. What they should be doing
Completing past papers This is the most important thing of all – not just reading notes or watching videos but actually doing questions!

9. How you can help Make sure they are organised Reassure them
Ask them to explain their answers or methods to you – you don’t necessarily have to understand the maths
Check that they are doing questions weekly (if they can’t show you some, then that’s not effective revision) I will be setting problem solving Qs weekly for HW – they are essential but don’t count in the above!
Test them on the formulae that they need to know
