3 High School Minimum Graduation Requirements
A minimum of credits are required for high school graduation in the Bellevue School District. Students earn a .5 credit for each class each semester. Additional graduation requirements are listed below. Minimum cumulative 2.0 grade point average (GPA) (Athletic/Activity eligibility also requires a 2.0 GPA) Minimum of 40 hours of Community Service Pass English Language Arts Smarter Balance Exam, Math Smarter Balance Exam & Biology End-of-Course Exam Washington State History requirement High School & Beyond Plan Suggest Four in the core subjects which helps to keep the options open

4 2019 Graduation Requirements:
The 3rd credit of science and the 3rd credit of math are chosen by the student and are based on the student’s interest and High School and Beyond Plan, and approved by the parent or guardian, or, if the parent of guardian is unavailable or does not indicate a preference, the school counselor or principal. Personalized Pathway Requirement (PPR) are related courses that lead to a specific post high school career or educational outcome chosen by the student based on the student’s interests and the High School and Beyond Plan.

5 Washington State History Requirement
If you were not in BSD in 7th and 8th grade, you need to make up WA State History. If you came from another district or a private school and did WA State History, we will need proof to demonstrate that the requirement has been met or you will need to make up WA State History.

7 Are you on track to graduate?
If you have failed any classes in English, History, Math, or Science and have not replaced the credit, be sure you have a plan in place! Credit Retrieval is available NOW—See your counselor for registration paperwork Summer School registration is available as well in the counseling center 40 hours of Community Service turned in?

8 Your Future (4 year College Considerations)
Rigorous & Balanced schedule Senior year! 4 Years Math and Science Fine art (UC = 1 year of same class) World Language (2-3 years minimum) ACT or SAT Reasoning/SAT subject tests—Sign up and take them NOW! NCAA – register with NCAA eligibility center College visits – use breaks to visit IB/AP courses will prepare you for the rigor of a college curriculum.

9 Requirements for the subjects
Diploma Programme Requirements for the subjects one subject from each of the six groups at least three but not more than four taken at higher level (HL) others at standard level (SL)

10 Can you earn an IB Diploma if your first language is not English?
Yes!!! The IB Diploma Program is flexible – you take Higher Level exams in your strengths. Some students are capable of taking composition and literature courses in their native languages through self-study. Students who are approaching fluency in two languages can earn a Dual Language Diploma.

15 Please Choose Carefully
Courses will be offered next year only if enough students register this Spring to fill a class. It is very important that you think carefully about your choices now so that the courses you want will be available next year. Once your schedule is built, changing your schedule will happen only under extenuating circumstances.

17 Green form  Fill out and return to your counselor. We will meet with You during the week of April 3rd to April 7th. You will get an invitation from your counselor.

18 White form  Health Forms must be returned with course selection forms. Make sure your PARENT fills this out!

19 Registration Materials Due Dates:
Current 9th grade students will meet with the counselors the morning of March 15th and 16th in your Social Studies class. Current 10th grade students will meet with the counselors during the week of April 3rd – April 7th. You will receive an appointment reminder from Ms. Miller (counseling secretary) the day of your appointment. Current 11th grade students will meet with the counselors during the weeks of March 22nd – 31st. You will receive an appointment reminder from Ms. Miller (counseling secretary) the day of your appointment.

20 Please Remember… …TO GO ONLINE AND COMPLETE YOUR REGISTRATION BEFORE YOUR MEETING WITH YOUR COUNSELOR! …to include alternates for your electives …to choose carefully – “you want it, you got it, you keep it” …to keep your course selection challenging and balanced …to contact your counselor if you have any questions about the registration process or specific classes that you should take

21 Fall Sports Forms Students participating in Fall Sports must have sports forms and fees turned in by August 18th. Football is due May 26th. Summer office hours begin August 1st from 9:00-3:00.
