Report straight to the library at class time Find your poster & put on your name tag Lay out your research paper & any other display components you brought (feel free to drop off in morning) Wait patiently & stay by your board the whole period No, the refreshments are not for you. They are for our volunteers. The lanyard is your gift. At the end of the period, turn in your final paper for an additional gift 

3 The Judges’ Rubric Evaluation Scale:
Project #: _____ Evaluation Scale: 0 = No Attempt 2 = Poor 4 = Good/Excellent 1 = Incorrect 3 = Fair/Satisfactory 5 = Superior Scientific Thought Is the problem stated clearly? Is the hypothesis understandable and testable? Were the experimental procedures explained clearly? Are the variables clearly recognized and defined (dependant and independent variables)? Is the control clearly identified? Is the data adequate and complete enough to make a conclusion? Did the student discuss information they obtained through research? Is the student able to recognize what changes may need to be made to the experiment or sources of errors? Is the student able to reflect on the conclusion and state why it supported or disproved the hypothesis? Section Subtotal: /45 pts.

0 = No Attempt 2 = Poor 4 = Good/Excellent 1 = Incorrect 3 = Fair/Satisfactory 5 = Superior Thoroughness Was the purpose of the project carried out to completion? Are the conclusions valid based on the data and research? Does it seem that adequate time spent on the project? Section Subtotal: / 15 pts.

Has the student exhibited good writing skills? Are the project components presented in an orderly manner? Are the graphs and tables easy to understand? How well does the project display explain itself? Section Subtotal: / 25 pts.

8 AFTER SCHOOL Come get your poster if you want to keep it.
Posters left behind will meet one of these fates: Used as an example next year (good, bad, or ugly) Thrown in the trash Deconstructed to be recycled for a student in need next year If you can or are willing to stick around and help clean-up…great and thank you.

9 Your Scores Judges’ score, poster grade, and final draft grade will all be tallied as part of your 4th quarter grade. The judges score will go in early in the quarter. The posters will go in around the middle of the quarter. The final drafts will not be put into grade book until the END of the quarter. So don’t keep asking, please. Be patient.
