FIGURE Flammables Storage Cabinet. Flammables liquids and solvents should be stored in the appropriate cabinet. Some cabinets are vented, some are not. This cabinet is not. To vent such a cabinet, the “bung hole” seen at the lower left is connected to a source of “make-up” air and a similar hole at the top of the right side of the cabinet is connected to piping to the exterior of the building. Simply opening these holes (without proper piping) would defeat the fire-rating capacity of the cabinet.
