What proteins are for and how to test for them List the four main food groups What the four main groups are Label a diagram of the alimentary canal What all the bits are Fill in a table showing parts of alimentary canal, their function (job) and where they are. 31 Physical and Chemical Breakdown (digestion) of food.
The job of digestion is to take BIG lumps of food and break them down, firstly into small bits and then into small MOLECULES. When we have molecules, those molecules can go through the lining of the small intestine into the bloodstream.
